School record: In the Autumn Term of 2011 Daniel Hu (J6DRE) recited 560 decimal places of π, a new school record, in aid of charity. This beat his previous record of 244 decimal set in September 2009. The previous school record had been set by Andrew Lawson (5A)in 2006 who memorised 186 decimal places. Click here for the first 10,000 decimal places of π. See Mr Eade in the maths department if you think you can beat Daniel!

Daniel Hu was one of 8 students who achieved full marks in the British Maths Olympiad Round 1 in December 2011. In February 2011 he achieved 22/40 in the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 2 (BMO 2) competition (beating his mark of 20/40 in 2010) and was selected to attend the International Olympiad Training at Trinity College, Cambridge (again!).
